Toyota is preparing a 7-seater version of its popular Corolla Cross SUV. The current global model is a 5-seater, but for markets like India, Toyota will increase the wheelbase by around 150 mm to add a third row of seats. The design will also get some changes such as a new grille, updated bumpers, longer rear doors, and a slightly flatter roofline for better headroom in the third row.
Interior
Inside, the SUV will offer a premium cabin inspired by the Innova Hycross. It is expected to feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and modern AC vents. The second row may come with either bench seats or captain seats, while the third row will have a 50:50 split option.
Engine & Performance
Toyota will most likely use the same engine options as the Innova Hycross:
A 2.0-litre petrol engine producing around 172 bhp.
A 2.0-litre strong hybrid petrol engine producing around 186 bhp.
Transmission options could include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed CVT for the petrol variant, and an e-CVT for the hybrid variant.
Features & Safety
The SUV will include advanced features like connected car technology, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, hill assist, and Toyota’s reliable safety package.
Launch Timeline
Toyota is setting up a new plant in Bidadi, Karnataka, with production expected to start by early 2026. The Corolla Cross 7-Seater is expected to launch in India between mid-2025 and early 2026.
Expected Price & Rivals
The 7-seater Corolla Cross will be positioned between the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Innova Hycross. The expected price range could be around ₹20–28 lakh in India. It will directly compete with Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus, and Jeep Meridian.
👉 In short, the Toyota Corolla Cross
7-Seater SUV will bring a mix of stylish design, strong hybrid technology, and Toyota’s trusted reliability. It will target families who want a premium 7-seater SUV at a price lower than the Fortuner but more practical than compact SUVs.
