The standard version gets a 2.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine producing around 203 horsepower. Toyota also offers a hybrid version that combines the petrol engine with electric motors to deliver more efficiency and better mileage. The top-end plug-in hybrid (RAV4 Prime) generates up to 302 horsepower and can run up to 40+ miles on electric power alone.
Transmission and Drive Options
The SUV comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can choose between front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) depending on the variant. The AWD models are designed to handle rough terrains and off-road conditions.
Mileage and Efficiency
The petrol model gives an average of around 28–30 MPG, while the hybrid version offers more than 40 MPG combined. The plug-in hybrid (Prime) achieves an impressive 94 MPGe with EV mode, making it one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in its class.
